No Arms, No Legs, No Problem!

I received an email back in November, inquiring as to whether or not I would like to receive a free copy of “Life Without Limits” by Nick Vujicic. It sounded good, and at the time I had been seeing and hearing about this man and his book. So, I decided to give it a go.

First off, let me tell you a little about Nick. Here is what was said about him in the email I received:

Born with a condition called “phocomelia,” Nick, who has no arms or legs, has overcome his disability in order to live a rich, fulfilling life. As president of the international non-profit organization, Life Without Limbs, and the motivational speaking company, Attitude is Altitude, Nick’s central message is to find life’s purpose despite difficulties or seemingly impossible odds.
In “Life Without Limits,” Nick tells the story of his physical disability and the emotional battle he endured trying to deal with it as a child, teen and young adult. He shares how his faith in God has been his main source of strength and explains that once he began inspiring others to make their lives and the world better, he found the confidence to build a rewarding and productive life without limits.
“Life Without Limits” is an easy to read, positive, and inspirational work of non-fiction. Nick reaches out to the reader and opens a window into his own life, revealing his struggles and his ups and downs. He shares stories that have been told to him by others, and reveals how he has overcome adversity. Mostly, he offers advice and motivation to the reader to show that he/she, too, can have "a ridiculously good life".

Nick is a young Christian man, still in his twenties, and while he does mention God and his faith throughout these pages, these are not topics that are over abundant. In my opinion, both Christians and non-Christians could read this book and walk away feeling totally inspired! While I (and probably you as well) may not be able to identify with Nick in the physical struggles he faced growing up, and still faces, it was more on the emotional and spiritual level that I was able to relate to this young man. He did not let the fact that he has no arms and no legs hinder his dreams. Nick swims, surfs, and scuba dives, he graduated university, and he’s a business man and popular motivational speaker who travels around the world spreading his message. No arms, no legs, no problem!

Was Nick's life always so positive and uplifting? Of course not! No one's is. He’s had his own fair share of ups and downs, but he’s learned to deal with them and make the best of what life has to offer. His positive outlook more than once made me examine my own life and outlook, and found myself lacking in so many areas.

Normally, I am not a big reader of non-fiction, but I truly enjoyed reading “Life Without Limits”. I gleaned lots of advice, hope and inspiration for my own life from it, and I highly recommend Nick’s book.

“Life Without Limits” is a wonderfully uplifting and inspirational book; a definite must read!

I have another friend who reviewed this book, and it looks awesome! Glad to see your review of it also.

Thanks for following my blog! Glad you liked my Life of Luther review. It's a little tough to get through because of the length and time in which it was written, but it is FULL of such wonderful, essential truths of faith in God and His grace.

Oh, and I notice you follow Betsy St. Amant. She is a dear friend of mine. I "knew her when." ;-) She has truly blossomed into someone God is using through her writing. Not sure if you know of her multi-author writing help blog called Scribble Chicks (www/scribblechicks.blogspot.com), but you would love it! 5 fairly young Christian authors all around her age sharing advice and experience.

Thanks again! Glad to have you following. I am doing the same.
