I wrote this poem earlier this month. I wanted to hold off sharing it until now, Easter weekend.
This is the first poem I worked on since wanting to try my hand at writing poetry. I know it's not the best, and it could probably use some tweaking, To be honest, I don't know (yet) when to judge a poem being finished and not in need of adjustments. But, I have to start somewhere!
Hope you like it!
To The Cross I Go
To the cross I go
Where He once hung,
And I stand below
With old and young.
To the cross I go
My burdens I give,
Through his death long ago
Eternal life I may live.
To the cross I go
God’s child I will be,
His blood did flow
His blood did flow
Yes, he did it for me.
To the cross I go
He took His final breath,
Jesus loved me so
And saved me from death.
