Crickets Chirping

Listen. Can you hear it? The sounds of crickets chirping in the corners of my blog.

I haven't been around here much. I've been in a fog with most aspects of my life, and certainly haven't been doing any writing, though I guess I did get a few ideas jotted down for some poems. They are no where near being finished, and need lots of work and fleshing out.

Do you remember when I said earlier in the year (maybe back in January) how the hard drive on my laptop had crashed, and that I had documents saved on an external hard drive but couldn't figure out how to get them off? Well, that is still the case. And, one of the documents I wanted to retrieve is my novel. Sadly, I haven't been able to do that.

I've decided (very recently) that rather than waste time waiting to see if I can retrieve said novel, I would just start writing another one and try to remember what I could from the other one. So, today is the day that I've felt out of the fog enough to write. I don't have much written yet, and I've started it a little differently, but I'm going to keep focusing on what the other one was about. I figure maybe I wasn't meant to write the story the way I had been, and that's why I can't seem to get access to the other one. Maybe God wanted me to write this story differently - if in fact He wants me to write it.

Anyway, I just wanted to post a little update to explain my absence. If you want, you can check out my "main" blog, Confirm The Work of Our Hands, and read about what is going on in my life lately.
